#29: Mostly Kitchen Finds for My Most Difficult Client (Me)
My dishwasher died on Tuesday.
By Thursday, I was pricing full kitchen renovations.
This is how it always starts.
This week, my most psychotic client (yes, it’s me) broke her dishwasher (probably her fault) and immediately decided this was not an appliance issue but a life pivot. I spiraled into a full kitchen renovation fantasy, complete with a deranged wishlist and impossibly high expectations.
Architects dream of building their own homes. It’s a thing.
For me, it’s my worst nightmare.
I am forever grateful to my 1940s Key West–style cottage for giving my crazy some guardrails.
I don’t know if it’s girl math, design brain, or untreated ADHD, but every week of working on my own house goes like this:
Something happens.
I get an idea.
I go insane.
I make a delusional wishlist with impossible standards and an impossible budget to match.
I find the best things.
Finds I couldn’t even dream of finding.
I overthink everything.
And in the end, after all that?
I buy new door knobs.
Here is the fallout of another week of spiraling <3
